PORTLAND – Officers arrested a Portland man Friday who was involved in a November 3 Occupy Portland rally where officers and protesters clashed, police said.
Michael Hernandez, 30, of Southeast Portland was taken into custody after police reviewed evidence that showed him trying to use his bike to push through a police officer blocking an intersection at Northeast Halsey Street, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland Police Bureau.
Police stopped Hernandez on the same bike he used in the protest on Southeast Salmon Street near Southeast 20th Avenue, Simpson said.
He was taken into custody without incident and booked in the Multnomah County Jail on charges of attempted assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Police are continuing to review evidence from the protest and may make additional arrests.
