GLADSTONE -- A 60-year-old Milwaukie woman who tried to cross mid-block on McLaughlin Boulevard near Gladstone was struck by a van and taken by ambulance to OHSU where she was pronounced dead.
Maria Isabel Cervantes-Gutierrez was crossing from east to west north of Meldrum Avenue whe she was hit by a van driven by Nathan Sheets, 24, of Milwaukie.
Sheets stopped immediately and remained at the scene, fully cooperating with police.
The southbound lanes of McLoughlin were closed for about two hours.
