VANCOUVER -- A Vancouver school was placed into brief lock-out and the parent of one of the students was arrested for allegedly threatening the principal Tuesday morning, police said.
The parent was upset and confronted the principal before classes started at York Elementary School, according to Fred Nieman with the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
"About 9 a.m., York School staff called 911 saying that an irate parent had forced their way into the principal's office and was now making threats toward the principal," said Nieman.
Staff members locked the school down as a precaution. The doors were unlocked after the parent, later identified as Ciera Davis, was arrested.
She now faces assault charges, Nieman said. "There is no reason to believe any students were in jeopardy or involved in this incident," he added.
York Elementary School is located at 9301 NE 152nd Avenue in Vancouver.
