ALBANY, Ore. (AP) -- Police arrested a Corvallis defense attorney accused of tampering with a witness during an August court proceeding.
Linn County Capt. Jeff Cone said Clark Willes told a third party to tell two witnesses for the state to leave the hallway outside an Albany courtroom. That way, they would not be present when called to testify.
Willes was booked Wednesday on charges of tampering with a witness and obstructing governmental or judicial administration. The Albany Democrat-Herald newspaper reports that Willes was at the sheriff's office for about 30 minutes Wednesday, then posted $2,400 security.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 6.
