PORTLAND -- An off-duty Portland police officer, who has been in trouble with the law in the past, was arrested New Year's Eve for vandalizing his neighbor's vehicle.
Homero Reynaga, 41, was arrested Dec. 31 by Tualatin police on charges of criminal mischief in the second degree and booked into Clackamas County Jail, police said.
Reynaga was arrested on a DUII charge in July 2011 in Salem, according to The Oregonian. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said at the time that Reynaga hit another vehicle and that he had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit.
In 2011 Reynaga was taken off his patrol duties and assigned to a desk job, the newspaper reported.
Reynaga is a 15-year-veteran of the Portland Police Bureau. He was placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation, police said.
