PORTLAND -- Two roller skaters from the Oaks Park Skating Club will be heading to the World Roller Figure Skating Championships in Taiwan next month.

A Sandy, Ore. native and Oaks Park team member, 19-year-old Spencer Swetnam took home the gold medal in Jr. World Class Team Dance at the 2013 USA Roller Sports National Championships. His partner Katelyn Rodgers is from Taunton, Mass.

Charlie Hamblin, 14, has been skating at Oaks park since he was a toddler. At 8 years old, he won his first national title, according to the Oaks park skating team page. Hamblin won the silver medal in the Jr. World Class Men Solo Dance division during the 2013 National Championships.

Both young men have started crowdsourcing websites to help fund the trip to Taiwan:
