In what looked like a scene from Alice in Wonderland -- Oregon Department Of Transportation has been dyeing the grass green.

It's a landscaping experiment along I-5 south of Sutherlin.

What was once dead brown grass is now various shades of green.

The goal is to save water and money. ODOT officials estimate they can save $8,000 by not watering the grass.

The dye-job costs $6,000 a year.
