PORTLAND -- Members of the New York band San Fermin said they had a great show at Bunk Bar on Friday night and they were looking forward to Saturday night's performance in Seattle.
But when they were staying at the Red Lion Inn near the Portland airport, all their gear was ripped off. Three guitars, a drum set, sax and electronic equipment were inside a U-Haul trailer attached to their vehicle.
They locked it up and went to bed. When they got up Saturday morning the trailer was gone. They didn't know what to do but knew they didn't want to cancel the Seattle show. Band members said they didn't want the bad guys to win. They turned to social media and their manager and started getting offers for help.
“We borrowed a drum set from the band before us. I bought a keyboard and we got other stuff from friends that we knew were here,” said band member Ellis Ludwig-Leone.
The missing trailer is a U-Haul with a Florida license plate GDX 050.
San Fermin still made it to their show at Barboza in Seattle. Now they'll head to Vancouver, British Columbia before moving back to the east coast.
Band members say they'll keep playing and figure out how to replace the missing equipment along the way. Anyone who knows anything about the theft was urged to call Portland police.
