PORTLAND -- Bigger isn't always better. That's at least the theory of a new hotel in Northeast Portland.

Caravan, the Tiny House Hotel, uses four custom-made houses for its guests. The owners said it's the first of its kind in the country.

Some of the tiny houses are modern and sleek inside, others are homier, and two are even pet friendly.

The tiny houses will be open for viewing on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. on Northeast 11th Avenue and Northeast Alberta Street.

“A lot of people come to Portland because Portland is known to be a really innovative, creative unusual kind of ground-breaking city with fun creative ideas and Caravan offers guests a chance to see Portland in a very authentic way,” said Deb Delman with Caravan “This is very Portland.”

The restaurant across the street delivers room service and everything is local.
