PORTLAND, Ore ... A NE Portland couple is dealing with a streak of bad luck.  It started Friday when Kate Blackmore was volunteering with a non profit at the 17th annual Sand in the City event.

"I was marching in a parade with puppets," said Blackmore.

The fun gave way to concern when Blackmore realized her purse had been stolen.

"I left my purse with a bunch of volunteers and they must've gone underneath the booth and stolen the purse," said Blackmore.

A short time later a surveillance camera at a bank on Hawthorne captured images of a man withdrawing hundreds of dollars from Blackmore's savings account.

"We do our best to be good people and live good lives," said Ryan Blackmore.

The Blackmores were angry, but things would only get worse.  On Wednesday morning the couple woke up to find that their vehicle had been stolen from right outside their apartment.

"Guess we're going to have to rely on public transportation," said Blackmore.  "I'm not getting on a bike anytime soon cause I'm almost due."

That is right - Blackmore is seven months pregnant with the couple's first child.  It is making the ordeal even more frustrating.  According to investigators, it is likely the same man stole the purse and the vehicle.

"Certainly we have purses stolen all the time and we have cars stolen all the time," said Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau.  "To have a purse stolen and a few days later a car stolen is unusual."

It is unusual and downright low, according to the expecting couple.

"I really need some good luck," said Blackmore.  "Hopefully the baby will bring that."

If you have any information about the case, or know the man in the photo above, you are urged to call the Portland Police Bureau.
