PORTLAND - One of Portland’s oldest and largest Zen centers broke ground Saturday on a new site on Northeast 85th and Siskiyou.
The Dharma Rain Zen Center will build its temple on the site of a former landfill. It will include gardens, a wildlife habitat, and a small apartment complex.
The temple will be connected with the surrounding neighborhoods by public walking and bike paths. It's all expected to open by the beginning of next year.
