PORTLAND – A man was arrested for flashing people along Northeast Marine Drive Wednesday, police said.
Khamidzhon Ayvazov, 27, was allegedly pleasuring himself near the intersection of NE Marine Drive and 158th Avenue when he was reported to police.
A witness called 911 immediately and Ayvazov was arrested for public indecency, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
Officers found Ayvazov inside his black BMW 750 sedan. He was not cooperative and there was a brief struggle before he was taken into custody, police said.
Investigators said Ayvazov was likely also behind a flashing incident last week.
Bonnie Kahn was riding her bicycle along the river that day and Ayvazov allegedly jumped out of the tall grass, touching himself. She called police but he got away that time.
She was so disgusted that she confronted the flasher.
“He looked at me with this really sinister smile and I thought, ‘That was weird,’” Kahn said last week. “The natural inclination is to ignore it and keep going, but if we do that in society then people will keep doing stuff like that.”
Ayvazov was charged with two counts each of indecent exposure and public indecency.
