PORTLAND -- A Multnomah County deputy was struck by a vehicle while he was putting out flares to help a stranded driver in Portland Sunday afternoon, police said.
The deputy was struck on the Fremont Bridge onramp to southbound Interstate 5 at around 2:30 p.m.
Injuries from the Sunday crash were described as non-life-threatening.
The driver cooperated with investigators and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol. Police said slick roads were likely a factor in the crash.
