BEAVERTON -- A bicyclist phoned emergency dispatchers Tuesday morning and said he was struck by a white pickup truck used for construction that left the scene.

The cyclist, 40, was not seriously injured but did suffer cuts to the face following the incident on Bronson Road and Bethany Boulevard.

He did not require a trip to the hospital.

"There's got to be some level of common human decency there that even if you did a mistake or even if the (cyclist) was in the wrong, what happened happened. We have to care for one another," said Lt. Paul Wandell of the Beaverton police.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a white, newer full-sized pickup truck. investigators said the truck may have damage on its front, passenger side.

Anyone with information that may help investigators was asked to call the Beaverton Police Department at (503) 629-0111.
