MILWAUKIE, Ore -- A man has died from injuries he suffered when a car struck his motorcycle in Milwaukie, police said Tuesday.

Charles Horton III, 59, was driving westbound on Southeast Jennings Road when an eastbound Kia turning left onto Addie Street collided with his motorcycle at about 10:30 a.m. Friday, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Horton was taken by ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University, where he later died.

The car's driver, 56-year-old Kathryn Gardner of Ridgefield, stayed at the scene and talked with police. She was not injured.

Gardner was cited for careless driving and failure to yield the right of way.

"The sheriff's office urges everyone to look twice before turning at intersections and driveways," Wurpes said, "And to be on the lookout for motorcyclists, other vehicles and pedestrians."
