ALBANY -- A man practicing jumps on a dirt-track course died Wednesday evening following a crash.

The 8 p.m. accident was at the Albany Motor Sports Park, 33648 Berry Lane, said Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller.

Kip Harrison Davis, 37, was practicing in the large bumps 'whoop tee do' section of the track, the sheriff said. He landed his Yamaha YZ 450F on the front wheel, at a steep angle. The bike flipped end over end.

Mueller said it looks as if Davis suffered massive internal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis was an experienced rider who practiced several times a week at the track, Mueller said.
