BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A Beaverton teen reported missing on April 5 was found in Pittsburgh, Penn. and taken into protective custody, police announced Tuesday morning.
The 16-year-old boy's parents reported last week he had run away before and that he often puts himself in danger.
"He is quite personable, but has very poor judgment," they said. "He is a chronic runaway who is engaged in high risk, dangerous behavior when he is on the run."
His parents said the boy frequently meets much older men through social media sites.
Detectives received a tip Tuesday that the boy was in Pittsburgh, headed to a bus terminal. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office alerted the Pittsburgh Police Department and officers there promptly took him into protective custody.
He was in good physical condition and will be returned to his parents for his continued care," said WCSO Sgt. Bob Ray.
