A Medford gun activist has people asking: Is there a right and wrong place to display a gun?

Warren Drouin is getting public attention and has also been stopped frequently by police for carrying around a loaded AR-15 semi-automatic rifle in public places.

Drouin, who goes by the online name "marked guardian," has posted nearly 100 videos on YouTube that show him walking around in public places strapped with a loaded assault rifle on his back and a pistol on his side, all in plain view.

Some give him the thumbs up for exercising his rights. Others are concerned about public safety, and say he's taking it all too far.

Openly carrying a firearm is a constitutionally protected right. But recent mass shootings have some people questioning Drouin’s actions, and citing the intimidation factor of seeing him armed with a rifle.

Drouin declined request from NBC5 Medford to answer questions, and he continues to exercise his right to bear arms.

On his YouTube channel, Drouin explains in his bio: "I trying (sic) to normalize firearms in public and in my opinion, I believe that carry (sic) a rifle daily will bring a strong culture in my area."
