LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – A man was arrested Friday after police say he tried to strangle his daughter at a softball game in Lake Oswego.
The girls varsity softball teams of Clackamas High School and Lakeridge High School were playing when Brett Miller, 46, attempted to strangle his daughter, according to Lake Oswego police.
David Just, the head varsity coach at Clackamas High School, told KGW Saturday the incident happened off the field.
Just said Miller's middle-school-age daughter is a fan who attends many games. He said Miller was trying to wrestle his daughter's cell phone away from her and the incident became physical, which scared onlookers who called 911.
Miller was chased away by staff, police said.
Officers found Miller around 8:30 p.m. He was arrested, charged with DUII and harassment, and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.
Police said Miller’s daughter did not need medical attention for her injuries.
