PORTLAND -- A man was stabbed while using the payphone near Northeast Portland's Holladay Park Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police were called just before 2:30 p.m. to the report of a stabbing at Northeast 11th Avenue and Northeast Holladay Street, according to Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Officers and medical responders at the scene spoke with the victim, who said he had been stabbed while talking on the payphone nearby, Simpson said.
The man was taken to a Portland hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
Officers searched the area, but did not find the suspect.
He was described as African-American with short hair, wearing a red hoodie, black jacket, blue jeans and white shoes.
