GRESHAM, Ore. – The suspect who allegedly stabbed two people during a domestic assault in Gresham Friday was set to appear in court Monday afternoon.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, police and paramedics showed up to an apartment in the 300 block of Northeast Cleveland Avenue and found 29-year-old Kit Haberman stabbed in the stomach, said Adam Baker with Gresham police.

Haberman reportedly tried to step in when a married couple were in a heated argument.

The suspect, a 45-year-old Pedro Nunez-Valdivia of Gresham (pictured), allegedly stabbed Haberman and also cut 40-year-old Maria Rodriguez's hand, who is reportedly his wife. She was treated at the hospital with minor injuries, Baker said.

Haberman was rushed to the hospital.

Nunez-Valdivia then reportedly took off running toward East Powell Boulevard. He was located a short while later and arrested, Baker said.

Nunez-Valdivia was booked in the Multnomah County Jail on assault, strangulation, and unlawful use of a weapon charges. He was set to appear in court at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Anyone with information was asked to call Gresham police at 503-618-2719.
