PORTLAND -- A man was injured early Sunday morning after someone fired into a crowd of people outside a Portland nightclub.
At approximately 2 a.m.Sunday morning, Kyron Antonio Trevino, 34, was shot when someone fired into a crowd of people that had gathered in front of the New Cooper Penny, at 5932 SE 92nd Avenue, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau.
There was a "disturbance" inside the nightclub and the people responsible left the building. At that point someone outside the club fired several rounds into the crowd, according to Simpson,
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His name was not released and Simpson did not know if the victim was the intended target.
Police searched the area with a K-9 dog but did not find anyone.
The suspect was described as an African American male with a skinny build, wearing dark-colored pants, a light-colored top, according to police.
Police believe the incident was gang related.
