PORTLAND – A 21-year-old man was knocked unconscious after a serious sledding accident on Mt. Tabor Saturday afternoon, according to Rich Chatman of Portland Fire and Rescue.

The man was sledding when he hit his head around 3 p.m. Chatman said it looked like the man hit a tree.

He was taken to an area hospital and his condition was unknown.

The man was not wearing a helmet. Portland Fire recommended that sledders wear helmets to protect themselves.
