Man sentenced to life in deadly Salem shooting

SALEM – The man suspected of shooting and killing a man in the parking lot of a Salem Walmart has been sentenced.

Mark Edward Brown, 41, of Salem was suspected of shooting 28-year-old Bryan John Lee Knorr on September 3, 2012.

The men had allegedly had a verbal altercation when Brown shot Knorr.

Brown pleaded no contest to charges including of murder with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to life in prison Monday and will serve a minimum of 25 years.
