WILSONVILLE, Ore. – An armed man tied up two Wilsonville La Quinta Inn employees and robbed them and the hotel Friday morning, officials said. Police were investigating whether the robbery was linked to a similar hotel robbery on Thursday.

The suspect was wearing a ski mask when he entered the La Quinta Inn at 8815 SW Sun Place around 4:15 a.m. Friday, according to Deputy Bryon O'Neil of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Two women were preparing breakfast when the suspect pointed a gun at them and tied them up, O’Neil said. He then un-tied one woman and made her empty a cash drawer.

The women said the robber also took both of their purses before fleeing the scene. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a man in his early 20s of medium height and weight, wearing a long shirt, gloves and ski mask.

The Portland Police Bureau was investigating whether the robbery was connected with a similar incident that took place Thursday at the Silver Cloud Inn in Portland. Anyone with information about either robbery was asked to contact the police.
