SEASIDE, Ore. -- A man suspected of beating two people to death with a baseball bat in Seaside last May will spend at least 60 years in prison.
Marcus Foster pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated murder in a Clatsop County courtroom on Wednesday. For his crimes, he will spend at least six decades behind bars, according to Deputy District Attorney Ron Brown.
"It's always nice for a victim's family not to have the relive the crime through testimony," Brown said, noting that he's happy with the plea.
Foster killed 53-year-old Laura Foster and 53-year-old Guy C. Phillips in May, 2012. Seaside Police Chief Robert Gross said at the time that the victims were longtime friends and Foster just recently moved to Seaside at the time of the murders.
Foster is slated for sentencing on April 22.
