PORTLAND – A 33-year-old man has a traumatic head injury after jumping from an overpass onto Interstate 405 in Portland Wednesday morning, police said.
Bystanders tried to talk the man out of jumping from the south guardrail of the Southwest Morrison Street overpass just after 10 a.m., according to Portland police. But as officers showed up to the scene, the man jumped on the interstate below.
He landed in the emergency lane and paramedics immediately responded to treat him.
Traffic on Southbound I-405 was limited to one lane while emergency crews responded.
