PORTLAND – A man was hit in a drive-by gang shooting early Saturday morning in the second of two overnight shootings within ten blocks of each other in Southeast Portland, police said.
Around 3 a.m., police found the 32-year-old victim lying in the street near Southeast 99th Avenue and Southeast Oak Street. At first he wouldn’t cooperate with the cops, but paramedics eventually took him to the hospital, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.
The man was expected to survive his injuries.
On Friday night, a teen was shot near Southeast 119th and Southeast Oak Street just before 7 p.m. when a suspect got out of a car and opened fire on a group.
No suspect was identified in either shooting.
Police have not said if the shootings were related. Anyone who has information about either shooting was asked to call police at 503-823-4106.
