PORTLAND – Police identified a man who was killed inside a home in Southwest Portland early Saturday morning.

Detectives said 25-year-old Charles Anthony Weber died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Just after 1 a.m., officers responded to the report of a disturbance and assault in the 2200 block of Southwest Dolph Court, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

After entering the home, police found Weber's body and described the death as "unusually violent."

Lee Orr lives next door to the crime scene. He didn't hear the disturbance, but did notice a strange man standing across the street from the home Friday afternoon.

"I was washing my car, moving around my car and was trying to see if I at least knew the guy because I didn't recognize him. He did not want to make eye contact. In fact, he turned away," Orr said.

Further information was not released by police.
