PORTLAND -- A $1,000 reward was being offered for information that leads to an arrested in the case of a 16-year-old boy was found shot to death Monday in a parked car in Northeast Portland's Cully neighborhood.
Lazaro Lizandro Fuentes-Burgos, 16, was found at about 3 a.m., in the 5800 block of Northeast 59th Avenue, according to police.
Investigators said the teen was shot while sitting in the driver's seat of a red 1994 Nissan Sentra.
"Neighbors reported hearing possible gunshots at approximately 1:40 a.m. but did not call 911, so police were not notified of the shooting until more than an hour later," said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
"Sounded like pops," said neighbor Karl Kessler. "Four seconds apart."
"It's extremely depressing," said neighbor Alexander Greenlee. "It's sickening in a way."
Fuentes-Burgos lived in the Lents neighborhood and had no known ties to gang activity or drug use, according to police.
Crime Stoppers offered $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
