FOREST GROVE – A Forest Grove man was in court Friday facing charges that he killed his family’s Golden Retriever, deputies said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested 45-year-old Michael Burns on Dec. 8 after getting reports that he had an altercation with the dog and cut its throat with a knife, said Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Burns was charged with aggravated animal abuse and animal neglect. He will remain out of custody. His next court date is Feb. 4.
