PORTLAND – An inebriated man was arrested at a St. Johns home early Tuesday morning for firing a gun into the air, officers said.

After responding to reports multiple calls of gunshots heard in the area, officers found 32-year-old Brandon Gustin on the porch of a home in the 7400 block of North Fessenden Street around 1:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of Portland police.

Gustin was armed with a handgun and visibly intoxicated, Simpson said. He was arrested and charged on five counts including discharging a firearm in the city, unlawful use of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

Gustin was taken to the Multnomah County Jail and his gun was taken as evidence, Simpson said.
