PORTLAND – Logan Storm, a former Beaverton middle school teacher convicted of child porn possession who fled to Mexico was sentenced to eight years in prison Tuesday in federal court.

In August of 2010, Storm, 37, was indicted for encouraging child sexual abuse after images of child pornography were discovered on his computer. He was later convicted of child porn possession. In addition, he was indicted by a Multnomah County grand jury and charged with two counts of sexual abuse for incidents in 2007.

At a January 29 hearing, a judge ordered that Storm be monitored electronically instead of being held until his April sentencing. The next day his monitoring bracelet was found dumped at a Troutdale park, and authorities learned Storm had fled to Mexico.

Storm was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center in April after he was captured by Mexican authorities in March.
