OREGON CITY – The wife of a fallen Oregon City officer has been taken off bed rest as her baby’s February delivery date nears.

In November, Robert Libke, an Oregon City Reserve police officer, responded to a house fire and was shot by the homeowner. He later died of his injuries.

Libke’s wife, Wendy, was several months pregnant with their child.

On Tuesday, Oregon City Police Chief Jim Band told KGW that Wendy was recently taken off of doctor-ordered bed rest, and is allowed to be active.

Wendy is due in early February.
