PORTLAND – Portland Public School students got one last day of summer vacation Tuesday before heading back to class.
The summer weather continues with some low clouds and fog giving way to mostly sunny skies and above average temps, forecasters said.
KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said there was a chance for us to hit 90 degrees on Thursday or Friday. Into the weekend the temps will start to cool off and there will be a slim chance for showers Saturday night into early Sunday.

One of the biggest adjustments kids will feel Wednesday will be the early wake-up call. Most kids said mom and dad will wake them up around 6:30 a.m., after sleeping in all summer.
On Tuesday, many Portland kids were spotted enjoying local attractions outdoor, like area pools, parks and the Oregon Zoo.
“We went swimming in a lake, jumped off a dock and came back home, we had so much fun," one girl told KGW.
Many kids also commented that the part of school they’re most excited about, will be seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
