KEIZER, Ore. - A Keizer neighborhood up in arms over a controversial sign can now rest a little easier, now that the sign has been taken down.
Alex White, 33 was angry at a neighbor who called the police on his family Easter Sunday.
White and his wife were having problems with her son, who suffers from manic bipolar depression and he was having emotional outbursts.
"We weren't mad at each other, " said Alex White. "We were mad at the situation. The police were called and they banged on our door."
No charges were filed.
But it was enough to get White fired up. The carpenter constructed a sign that read, "to the neighbor who called police on Easter, (blank) yourself."
"A little crude and crass, but it gets the point across, " said White.
He said he would take the sign down when the neighbor apologizes. And he said that's what happened Thursday night. White said all is well and is planning a weekend barbeque for the neighborhood.
"We were laughing about it, " said Tom. "I said you (Alex) may have gone a smudge overboard."
