PORTLAND – Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen is losing his long-time chief of staff.
The county confirmed to KGW that Marissa Madrigal is leaving the position to work in the county's Human Resources department.
She's been his chief of staff since 2006.
"I am very happy for Marissa and the county that she has this opportunity. She has been a great chief of staff who has a lot of knowledge about how the county operates. This is a chance for her to branch off and try something new. I wish her only the best," Cogen said in a statement to KGW.
Cogen is under criminal investigation by the Oregon Department of Justice related to his affair with a county employee.
