AURORA -- A Hubbard-area woman died Monday evening when she crashed into trees along Oregon 551 about a mile south of Aurora.
Michele M. McLaughlin, 50, was driving a 2007 Ford F150 pickup northbound when she left the roadway for an unknown reason, according to Oregon State Police.
The pickup hit the gravel shoulder, then went down an embankment and hit two trees. McLaughlin was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat-belt.
The crash closed the highway for about five hours.
