WOODLAND, Wash. – A masked robber tied up a hotel clerk at gunpoint early Saturday morning in Woodland, police said.
At 3:20 a.m. the masked man confronted the desk clerk at the Quality Inn at 1380 Atlantic Avenue and made threats that a small black package in his hand was a bomb, said Sgt. Robb Lipp with Woodland police.
The suspect took off after tying up the employee and taking a small amount of cash from the register, Lipp said.
The suspect was wearing a tight-fitting blue long sleeve shirt, black pants, and a blue winter hat with ear flaps pulled down over a white hockey-style mask.
Police think the suspect may have gotten into a waiting vehicle and left.
Anyone with information was asked to call Woodland place at 360-225-6965.
Saturday’s robbery comes after similar hotel robberies in Wilsonville and Portland. In those cases, a masked man tied up hotel employees and robbed them.
Police have not said if they think the robberies are related.
