BEND, Ore.  -- The Hoodoo Ski Area in Central Oregon plans to open Friday after a weekend of snow. The area has been short of snow since its planned opening in late November.

General Manager Matthew McFarland tells The Bulletin newspaper in Bend it started snowing Thursday, and about an inch fell every few hours.

He says it wasn't the huge snowfall the ski area has been hoping for, but it's enough to get the area open.
