A new study finds that cost is more important than taste when it comes to making healthy food choices. Researchers followed about 5,000 adults for two decades.
The study found that, as the price of soda and pizza increased, people ate less of those items. In fact, a one-dollar increase led to lower body weights and improved insulin scores.
The researchers estimated that an 18 percent tax on those items would lead to weight loss of about five pounds each for the average person.
