GRESHAM, Ore -- Police rescued a man Friday who had been held against his will in a Gresham apartment for several days, police said.

Four people were initially placed into police custody after a raid on the apartment, located on the 700 block of Southeast 193rd Avenue, by the East Metro SWAT, according to Lt. Claudio Grandjean of the Gresham Police Department.

Christopher Toientino, 29 (pictured left), and transient Whitney Engstrom, 25 (pictured right), were booked in the Multnomah County Jail on kidnapping, theft and burglary charges.

Police said the suspects did not know the victim, who was listed as a missing person. While Toientino and Engstrom held the man hostage, they accessed his bank account and stole his money, Grandjean said.

Police have not released the victim's name.
