Temperatures dropped below freezing for much of the Portland Metro Area overnight, and are expected to stay low for the next few mornings.

Several cars spun on the southbound I-5 approach to the bridge before the upper deck was closed, the agency reported.

Lanes were reopened about 7 a.m. Traffic had backed up to SR 500 in Vancouver and a commute from there to the bridge of about 45 minutes.

A wreck on I-5 approaching the Marquam Bridge stalled commuters northbound. I-84 inbound was backed up by the Fremont closure and a wreck by 82nd Avenue.

Inbound Interstate 84 traffic also has been slowed at it approaches Intersate 5.
