LAKEVIEW, Ore. – Police say a 17-year-old Lakeview girl has been found safe after she and a former deputy went missing.

The deputy turned himself in Sunday morning and the girl was found safe Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, Oregon State Police said Kenneth Turkle, 42, a former Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy, was missing and believed to be with Marriah Andrews, 17.

Police said the two were involved in a sexual relationship. Andrews’ family reported her missing last week.

Turkle was wanted on multiple sex-abuse charges before turning himself in Sunday at the Lake County Jail. He resigned a week ago, while he was under investigation by the OSP Criminal Investigations Division.

On Sunday afternoon, Andrews contacted a police officer in Lakeview. She was unharmed and officials notified her family, police said.

"OSP appreciates the public's interest in this matter," said Lt. Gregg Hastings of OSP. "No other information will be released."
