LONGVIEW, Wash. – Firefighters battled a fire at a home in rural area of Longview Saturday morning, authorities said.
Around 10:15 a.m., crews scrambled as a fire spewed heavy smoke from the eaves and attic of a home at 2678 Maplewood Drive, said Troy Buzalsky with Longview Police & Fire.
Firefighters discovered the fire started in the shop side of the home and worked aggressively to ventilate the smoke and contain the fire, Buzalsky said.
Crews had the fire out in around 20 minutes. Investigators estimated the damages to be more than $20,000 but have not determined the cause of the blaze.
No one was in the home and no firefighters were injured butting out the flames.
