WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Firefighters battled an early-morning fire at a home in Wilsonville that took the life of at least one pet Sunday.
Just after 2 a.m., firefighters arrived to a fully-involved fire at a home at 28992 SW Courtside Drive. Flames poured out of the home’s garage as firefighters took a defensive position, hitting the fire with the deck gun of a fire engine, said a spokesperson for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
The fire was mostly extinguished by 2:41 a.m., and firefighters were then able shut off a natural gas line that was feeding the flames.
Because of working smoke alarms, everyone in the home got out safely. One pet, however, was found dead and another is still missing.
