PORTLAND – It’s officially fall at 1:44 p.m. and with the change of season will come dark skies and steady rain in the Portland metro area.
It won’t last too long though, said KGW Meteorologist Jim Donovan. The rain, which should bring .2 to .4 inches of rain, will likely start around noon and pick up into the late afternoon before breaking up into showers in the evening.
Gusty southwest winds up to 40 mph will be likely in the metro area around 4 p.m., which should help the rain move through quickly. Steady rain on the cost will continue into mid-afternoon.
In coming weeks, expect temperatures to regularly drop into the 60s, KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill writes in his blog, including a daily probability of rain of four out of 10 days. The 90-day outlook calls for above-normal November and December temps.
