MEDFORD, Ore. -- The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest say extreme fire danger has prompted additional restrictions on the Rogue Wild and Scenic River.

Fires are prohibited except in camp stoves. Smoking is banned except on the water or a gravel bar.

The national forest says hot, dry weather has raised the fire danger two to four weeks ahead of the average for this time of year in southwest Oregon.
