VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A man died Friday evening after he was pinned between a mid-sized truck and a guardrail near Camper's Hideaway in northern Clark County.
Dispatchers received a call about 8:05 p.m. that someone was trapped in the 43900 block of Northeast Columbia Tie Road. When rescuers arrived the person was dead.
An early review suggests that truck stalled while northbound on a steep portion of the road. The driver tried to back down the road, stepped out for an unknown reason, thinking the parking brake was on or the truck was in gear.
The truck rolled back, pinning the driver. A passenger ran for help and called dispatchers.
The name of the driver is being withheld until relatives are notified of the death.
