PORTLAND – Officers arrested a driver with an open container of alcohol, a gun and a baggie of marijuana in Northeast Portland Saturday night, police said.
Police heard reports of a gunshot near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard just after 9:30 p.m. An officer then saw a 2000 Cadillac Sedan DeVille speeding northbound on Northeast 82nd Avenue, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
The officer pulled the car over and found 29-year-old Tyler Kahnert with an open container of alcohol. Kahnert was also driving with suspended license and no insurance, Simpson said.
Police searched the car and found a handgun and a spent shell casing.
Kahnert was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of DUII, reckless driving, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and delivery of marijuana.
